The Icing is here

So winter is here yesterday we had thunder and noticed snow just like white sugar icing sprinkled on the tops of the mountains around us. As the day when on that icing moved further and further down the sides. Should not have been a surprise for us to wake up to snow here. The crows where acting really nuts yesterday as well and we had been told by an old keeper that crows ( ravens) are a good indicator of weather change.

Along with the strange things the day before I noticed an eagle grab a seagull right of the sky. That was a first. He must have really been hunger I had in the past seen them take seagulls from the water but never right out of the sky. Had been told that when the salmon is not around they will take after seagulls for food. Intereting the more we are out here the more I learn about wildlife and their customs out here. Stuff that you would never see or learn in town.

Later in the day now infact early evening and there are light rain showers so maybe if we are lucky the snow on station will be going by morning. I can only hope that it will be as they are trying to get up to the mountain top across from us as the lighting yesterday it seems hit the guards radio relays and all systems are down so the aln and the vhf is down since then and still down. I know most would like it reapaired because those of us who have real phones are the ones calling in the weather every three hours not that is really a pain but we have to make sure that we are not using out personal phone when it is necessary to give weather. As for the complaints about the line being busy go over my head as it is our phone and we are paying the bills..

Well time for the dogs and their last walk of the evening. To all a good night from the Bluff. More later
