Still in the city
Well not much luck here in the big city looking for a place. But have heard it is a bit early for a May rental. So I will have to get someone to assist and keep looking after I go.
Lastly I have been chatting with my older brother, cousins, and long time friends. It is amazing the things you remember about your childhood not just the Christmas's but the summers. And all the other places you used to go. In fact while chatting with my Mother today we brought up memories of a place called Miss Montreal is was a lovely restaurant. Our parents used to take us there on Christmas Eve because we had no other family close to go and visit. That like our Christmas trips to Montreal to Eaton's are so fondly remember, as that is where we got our first taste of French pastries. They would come around with the wheeled cart and you got to choose from the cart the one you wanted. I seem to remember we got Eclairs and Milfiex (sp). I amd sure as well the meals where great as well. And in the summers we used to for great Sunday drives and end up at a great Ice cream shop.
And then of course the trips to the dentist, my older brother used to try and get all of us kids to go before him. He would bribe us with the promises of treats or something we really wanted. And after the dentist our parents used to take us to this other great dairy bar , where they had cow heads on the walls well two of them Jersey, and a Holstein. If there had been freezing we could have milkshakes always a great treat back then.
I hope that my memories of living at the Bluff and other lights will be as fondly remembered in my old age as the ones I have now of my childhood. I would like to think that everyone has great memories of their childhood but I know that there are just as many who do not. Even today in this world of plenty there are many that will never have the great ones I have. What I find interesting is that even my cousins found that I remembered times at their family cottages, the dogs, and even their homes with great fondness. So I am sure that even with all the stuff we have that we think makes living on the lights hard will be a distance fade and only the good will be remembered fondly. Well all for now not much more to write from the "couver" but will write again when I find that it moves me to do so.
